Part Time Educator - New Kent County Public Schools

Right At School provides local school districts with before and after school extended-day programs focused on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment dedicated to the success of all students. About the role

You’ll drive the mission by leading daily program meetings, organizing and facilitating activities, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment, and communicating effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

• Daily Program Meetings: Review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum aligned with program objectives, leading structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
• Leading by Example: Model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain a safe and nurturing environment while meeting program goals.
• Prioritize Safety and Joy: Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols, including documenting attendance, incidents, and observations.
• Communication: Engage effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Requirements

• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age.
• Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living.
• Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed.
• Ability to meet Virginia state-specific requirements, including:
  • First Aid and CPR (in-person certification).
  • Cleared tuberculosis test.
  • Proof of MMR vaccination.
  • 18+ years of age.
  • Proof of High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Pay

$16.00–$18.00 per hour, based on education and experience.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–9:00 AM and 3:30 PM–6:00 PM.
