About the role
A dedicated dietitian responsible for assessing patients' nutritional needs, developing and implementing personalized dietary plans, and educating on healthy eating habits. The role includes instructing patients on post-discharge diets, monitoring nutritional status, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care.
Responsibilities
- Communicate and counsel patients based on physician instructions.
- Evaluate referral orders for appropriate nutrition intake methods.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records.
- Implement and adapt nutritional care plans and menus for special dietary needs.
- Conduct calorie counts and provide nutritional recommendations.
- Review and approve menus for nutritional adequacy.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- State licensure required.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Food & Nutrition from an accredited institution.
Qualifications & Skills
- Preferred: Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Preferred: At least one year of clinical dietetics experience.
