About the role
Serve as food service assistant for the Bayfield County Jail. Prepare food for inmates.
This position is scheduled for 20 hours per week. Some weekends and holidays will be required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, storage areas, and walk-in coolers.
- Prepare meals as identified by the menu plan and for the special needs inmate population.
- Maintain records of kitchen operations.
- Assist Lead Cook in ordering food service supplies from vendors and maintain adequate supply levels.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Three or more years of experience in food service.
- Preferable experience in quantity food service for large groups.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift mild to moderate loads, up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time while preparing food.
Schedule
20 hours per week. Some weekends and holidays required.
