Part-Time City Driver

Position Overview: This role involves pick-up and delivery of freight between service centers and customers, supporting sales efforts. Key Responsibilities Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/triples and straight trucks.Perform daily safety inspections and trailer hookups.Handle freight using equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual tools.Secure freight inside trailers and repair damaged items as needed.Complete documentation, adhere to hazardous materials regulations, and manage freight charges.Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding deliveries, pickups, and potential additional business.May perform tire chaining, road driving, or dock duties as necessary, complying with laws and policies. Qualifications & Skills Class A CDL with endorsements for double/triple, hazardous materials, and tanks.At least one year of recent driving experience or completion of a driver development course.Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and compliance with DOT regulations.Ability to perform basic math, lift up to 100 pounds, and work independently or in teams.Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions. Working Conditions: Driving in diverse weather and road conditions, exposure to noise, dust, diesel fumes, and DOT-shipped hazardous materials. Flexibility in hours based on operational needs.
