Part Time - Cashier

Role Overview: This position involves operating cash registers and electronic scanners to process customer purchases, handle various payment methods, and assist with bagging items while maintaining courteous customer service. Key Responsibilities Operate cash registers, scanners, scales, and belts to itemize and total purchases across a variety of products.Process financial transactions accurately, including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons.Weigh and bag customer purchases, ensuring proper handling and presentation.Maintain understanding of store programs, product locations, and signage; report pricing errors.Communicate store promotions, loyalty programs, and in-store specials effectively to customers.Adhere to policies on security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of age-restricted items.Keep the department clean, well-stocked, and compliant with safety and sanitation standards.Assist with stocking and perform other duties as needed, following safety, food safety, and customer experience guidelines. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or GED preferred.Prior retail experience is a plus.Strong verbal communication, customer service, and organizational skills.Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic proficiency. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform bending, stooping, and twisting movements. Must work in varied temperature environments and handle typical retail noise levels.
