Part Time - Cashier

Role Overview: Responsible for operating cash registers and electronic scanners to process customer purchases, handle various payment methods, and assist with bagging items while delivering courteous customer service. Key Duties Operate checkout equipment to itemize and total purchases, including dry goods, produce, frozen foods, and meat products.Process transactions accurately using cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, and coupons.Weigh and bag customer items, ensure proper product identification, and report pricing errors.Maintain knowledge of store programs, product locations, and current promotions.Communicate store policies, in-store specials, and loyalty programs to customers.Adhere to security, cash handling, and food safety policies; keep the department clean, stocked, and compliant with safety standards.Assist with stocking and perform other assigned tasks as needed to enhance guest experience. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or GED preferred.Prior retail or related experience preferred.Strong verbal communication, customer service, and organizational skills.Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in varied temperature conditions.
