Part Time Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

About the role

Penn State Scranton’s Department of Athletics is seeking a Part‑Time Assistant Coach for Women’s Basketball. The Assistant Coach supports the head coach in practice preparation, player development, game‑day coaching, recruiting, and supervision of player personnel. The role requires a strong understanding of basketball, with previous coaching experience preferred, and operates primarily during the season with additional recruiting responsibilities in the off‑season. Strict adherence to PSUAC, USCAA, and NCAA Division III rules is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and conduct practice sessions.
• Develop player skills and performance.
• Coach the team during game days.
• Recruit prospective student‑athletes.
• Supervise player personnel under the direction of the head coach.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of basketball; previous coaching experience preferred.
• Ability to work primarily in‑season with additional recruiting duties in the off‑season.
• Commitment to strict adherence to PSUAC, USCAA, and NCAA Division III regulations.

• PA State Police Criminal Background Check.
• PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form.
• Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
• Other applicable background checks as required by Penn State.
