About the role
The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor seeks qualified Christian employees for this part-time teacher position in the Arts Academy.
Responsibilities
- Provides instruction in Violin, Viola, Cello and/or String Bass through private lessons and group classes.
- Offers professional guidance and instruction to students of all ages and levels.
- Teaches with knowledge and expertise.
- Works flexible hours, primarily after school (2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.) Monday through Friday, with some weekend special events/performances required.
Requirements
- Must be an active and committed Christian who supports the University's mission and participates in their local church.
- Experience in music or related field required.
- Ability to teach all ages of string instrument study.
- Demonstrated proficiency in playing string instruments.
- Experience in ensemble participation required.
- Reliable and dependable in keeping lesson times and communicating with students and parents.
- Personal and cordial relationship with students and parents.
- Organized and able to prioritize work independently.
- Excellent time management skills necessary.
- Agreement to the University’s Employee Statement of Understanding.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Must have a current CPR certification.

Pay
- Compensation commensurate with experience.
Schedule
- Work schedule will depend on the number of students assigned to each teacher, with primary teaching hours to be after school (2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.) Monday through Friday. Some weekend special events/performances will be required.
