Responsibilities

The Arts Academy Teacher - Voice provides instruction in Voice through private lessons and group classes under the direction of the Director of the Arts Academy. Responsibilities include offering professional guidance and instruction to students of all ages and levels, and teaching with knowledge and expertise. Work schedule will vary based on the number of students assigned, with primary teaching hours being after school (2:00PM – 8:00PM) Monday through Friday. Some weekend special events/performances may also be required.

Requirements

  • Must be an active and committed Christian who supports the University’s mission and actively participates in their local church.
  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree required, with experience in Music and Vocal teaching and performing.
  • Experience in teaching Voice is required.
  • Ability to teach all ages of Voice students, from children to adults.
  • Personal relationship with students and parents, maintaining a cordial and professional demeanor.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in vocal skills and ability.
  • Experience in ensemble participation.
  • Reliability and dependability in keeping lesson times and communicating with students and parents.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills necessary for managing workload.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Agreement to the University's Employee Statement of Understanding.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of an undergraduate degree and experience in Music and Vocal teaching and performing. They should possess a strong background in teaching Voice to students of various ages and levels, including personal relationships with students and parents. Proficiency in vocal skills and experience in ensemble participation are also essential. Candidates must be reliable, dependable, and able to manage their time effectively.
