Arts Academy Teacher - Art (Part-Time)

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor seeks qualified Christian employees for this part-time teacher position in the UMHB Arts Academy.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Director of the Arts Academy, provide instruction in various mediums through private and group Art classes.
• Specific Art classes will be assigned based on the teacher’s expertise and experience.
• Offer professional guidance and instruction to students of all ages and levels.
• Teach with knowledge and expertise in the assigned Art medium.
• Work schedule depends on the number of students and classes assigned, with primary teaching hours after school (2:00 PM - 8:00 PM) Monday through Friday.
• Participate in some weekend special events/performances as required.

Requirements

• Must be an active and committed Christian who supports the University’s mission and actively participates in a local church.
• Experience teaching Art classes in various mediums.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the Art medium being taught.
• Experience exhibiting Artwork and providing labels/explanations for displayed works.
• Reliable and dependable in keeping lesson times and communicating schedule changes to students and parents.
• Ability to relate professionally and cordially to students and parents.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently as needed.
• Must agree to the University’s Employee Statement of Understanding.
