Responsibilities
- Teaching vocal music in the morning
- Preparing students for performances and competitions
- Supporting music ministry for school liturgies
- Two semesters of Co-ed Honors Choir class (including performances and competitions)
- One semester of AP Music Theory
- Liturgical Choir (including one after-school rehearsal per week and music ministry for all school Masses)
- Advanced Audition Choir (including two after-school rehearsals per week, competitions, and performances)
- Collaboration with Marian’s Performing Arts team to continue building a dynamic, student-centered vocal arts program
Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- A Michigan teaching certificate and appropriate endorsement to teach high school vocal music/choir preferred
- At least two years of experience teaching high school choir
- Experience directing vocal ensembles and preparing students for public performances
- Knowledge of vocal pedagogy, music theory, repertoire selection, and performance preparation
- Comfort supporting sacred music and Catholic school liturgies
- Strong classroom management and student relationship-building skills
- An engaging, positive, and collaborative teaching style
- A desire to contribute creatively to Marian’s growing Performing Arts program
