About the role
The School of Theatre and Dance at West Virginia University invites applications for part-time Adjunct positions to teach undergraduate, graduate, or non-credentialled courses. The School offers programs including Acting MFA, Costume Design and Technology MFA, Lighting Design and Technology MFA, Scenic Design and Technology MFA, Technical Direction MFA, Acting BFA, Dance BA, and Musical Theatre BFA.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate, graduate, or non-credentialled courses as assigned.
- Develop and deliver engaging, dynamic, and interactive lessons aligned with course descriptions.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and incorporate relevant material into teaching.
Requirements
- Candidates must have a terminal degree (master’s or doctoral) in a closely related discipline.
- Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and substantial, highly specialized industry experience will also be considered.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Experience in the field of theatre and dance.
