Parks Maintenance Seasonal Laborer

Description

Semi-skilled work in the use of light equipment in maintenance and construction work. Involves responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of a variety of equipment used in the construction and maintenance of parks and other municipal facilities; also includes physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Maintains City park properties.
• Maintains grounds, parks, restrooms, athletic fields and facilities.
• Operates grounds maintenance equipment such as weed whips, push and riding lawnmowers.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Physical Demands

• Frequent: Walk, sit, talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Occasional: Climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Specific vision abilities: Close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Frequent exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
• Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
