Seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker
Job Summary
Incumbent coordinates the day-to-day operations of the County Auditor's Office to ensure effective scheduling and assignment of staff in meeting the needs and objectives of the department.
Job Responsibilities
- Develops staff schedules and monitors customer service operations.
- Adjusts schedules and staff assignments to meet fluctuating workloads.
- Works in tandem with Auditor to assure all statutory requirements of the office are met.
- Implements office policies and changes at the direction of the Auditor.
- Works with community leaders, elected officials, and the media to inform and coordinate office activities that affect the public.
- Captures and participates directly in the evaluation of work performance of staff, establishing performance objectives and providing feedback.
- Participates in interviews and selection and recommends the hire/promotion of individuals as appropriate.
- Addresses performance problems and administers corrective and/or disciplinary action as necessary.
- Administers personnel policies and collective bargaining agreement in a consistent manner.
- Develops and implements departmental work rules, policies and procedures.
- Updates staff regarding new law changes as necessary.
- Solves daily operational problems as needed to assist staff.
- Assists Auditor in interpretation and implementation of changes to the Code of Iowa.
- Participates as a member of the department's management team in establishing departmental objectives and developing appropriate action plans.
- Performs other job-related duties as necessary and/or assigned.
Standards For Initial Consideration
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field or commensurate training, education and/or work experience is required.
- Work Experience: Five years previous work experience in a government finance office or financial institution required. Two years of supervisory experience required.
- Experience: Two years of supervisory experience required. Experience in County government strongly desired.
