Park Resource Ranger (Seasonal) - Pine Grove Furnace State Park

Description of Work

• Visitor Support: Provide information, answer questions, and assist the public in person, by phone, and through email
• Administrative Tasks: Prepare documents, create reports, and use computer programs to support daily park operations
• Park Patrol: Monitor park grounds by vehicle, watercraft, bicycle, or foot to ensure safety and rule compliance
• Emergency Response: Assist with first aid, search and rescue, weather events, and traffic control when needed
• Facility Monitoring: Inspect buildings, trails, and structures to identify hazards and report or address issues
• Program Assistance: Support educational and recreational programs by helping with scheduling, set up, and presentation

Qualifications

• Special Requirements: Active motor vehicle license and valid certification in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR within 60 days of employment
• Other Requirements: Meet the PA residency requirement
• Legal Requirements: Pass a background investigation and comply with the Child Protective Services Law

Work Schedule and Additional Information

This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately April 2026 until October 2026. Work hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Days and shifts will vary due to the seasonal nature of the position. You will work 37.5 hours, 5 days per week to include holidays and weekends.
