Paraprofessional (Category B and C) - Middle and High School

About the role

Middletown Township Public Schools is seeking qualified paraprofessionals to support middle school, high school, and adult transition students for the 2026–2027 school year (9/1/2026 – 6/30/2027).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 48 college credits or passing score on the Paraprofessional Praxis test
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• New Jersey Teaching Certificate preferred
• Paraprofessionals continuously employed by MTPS since June 2005 who passed the in-district assessment are exempt from the above requirements

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in delivering an effective instructional program
• Record and/or collect data under the direction of the teacher
• C/D Rate assignments: Monitor and implement a student’s Behavior Intervention Plan; address behavior as required
• C/D Rate assignments: Assist with physical care of students, including mobility, feeding, toileting, and diapering

Schedule

Up to 29.75 hours per week.

Pay

• B Rate hours: $26.55 per hour
• C/D Rate hours: $30.41 per hour
