Paraprofessional (Category B and C) - Preschool and Elementary

About the role

Middletown Township School District is seeking qualified paraprofessionals to support preschool and elementary students from September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Assists teacher in delivering effective instructional programs
• Records and/or collects data under teacher’s direction
• C/D Rate assignments: Implements and monitors a student's Behavior Intervention Plan and addresses behavior as needed
• C Rate assignments: Assists with physical care of students, including mobility, feeding, toileting, and diapering

Requirements

• Minimum of 48 college credits or Paraprofessional Praxis test required
• BS/BA degree preferred
• NJ Teaching Certificate preferred
• Board approved paraprofessional assignment or Priority List status as of May 1, 2026
• Paraprofessionals hired before June 2005 and those who passed the in-district paraprofessional assessment are exempt from meeting these requirements

Skills

• Ability to assist teachers in delivering effective instruction
• Knowledge of data collection and record-keeping
• Experience implementing and monitoring Behavior Intervention Plans
• Physical care skills for students

B Rate hours: $26.55

C/D Rate hours: $30.41
