Paraprofessional - High School

Description

Mahomet-Seymour High School is accepting applications for a Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic concepts and classroom learning.
• Aid in implementing student accommodations and behavior support plans as directed.
• Encourage student independence while providing appropriate academic and organizational support.
• Supervise students during instructional activities, study halls, transitions, lunch, and other assigned duties.
• Prepare instructional materials and assist with maintaining an organized learning environment.
• Foster positive relationships with students while supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.

Qualifications

• Must have an Illinois ELS Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement or the Short-Term Approval for the Paraprofessional, or the ability to obtain one of these license options prior to employment.
• Experience working with high school-aged students is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
• Ability to assist students with academic, behavioral, and personal care needs, as assigned.
• Must be able to pass a physical abilities test prior to starting employment.

Please see the attached 2025-2026 Aide Salary Schedule and 2026 Employee Benefits summary. NOTE: Our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement expired at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we are currently negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year.
