About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Paramedic to join our Emergency Department team. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, patient-focused, and committed to delivering exceptional emergency care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients and determine appropriate emergency care priorities.
  • Provide advanced life support interventions in accordance with established protocols.
  • Perform emergency diagnostic and treatment procedures including IV initiation, cardiac monitoring, specimen collection, splinting, and equipment management.
  • Perform advanced airway management and ventilatory support procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and approved protocols.
  • Monitor and manage cardiac dysrhythmias utilizing EKG interpretation, defibrillation, synchronized cardioversion, and transcutaneous pacing.
  • Provide care for trauma and medical emergencies using advanced assessment and treatment skills.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient documentation.
  • Respond calmly and effectively during emergency situations.
  • Assist with departmental operations and community outreach activities as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of Paramedic experience required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduation from an approved Paramedic Program required.
  • Current Louisiana Paramedic License required.
  • Nationally Certified Paramedic required.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • Crisis Prevention Training within six (6) months of hire.
  • PALS certification within six (6) months of hire.
  • NRP certification within six (6) months of hire.
  • MOAB certification within six (6) months of hire.
