About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Paramedic to join our Emergency Department team. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, patient-focused, and committed to delivering exceptional emergency care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and determine appropriate emergency care priorities.
- Provide advanced life support interventions in accordance with established protocols.
- Perform emergency diagnostic and treatment procedures including IV initiation, cardiac monitoring, specimen collection, splinting, and equipment management.
- Perform advanced airway management and ventilatory support procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and approved protocols.
- Monitor and manage cardiac dysrhythmias utilizing EKG interpretation, defibrillation, synchronized cardioversion, and transcutaneous pacing.
- Provide care for trauma and medical emergencies using advanced assessment and treatment skills.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient documentation.
- Respond calmly and effectively during emergency situations.
- Assist with departmental operations and community outreach activities as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum one (1) year of Paramedic experience required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduation from an approved Paramedic Program required.
- Current Louisiana Paramedic License required.
- Nationally Certified Paramedic required.
- ACLS certification required.
- Crisis Prevention Training within six (6) months of hire.
- PALS certification within six (6) months of hire.
- NRP certification within six (6) months of hire.
- MOAB certification within six (6) months of hire.
