Responsibilities

  • Design and coordinate staff and community programs to enhance abilities and promote wellness.
  • Assist in coordinating professional development programs for Medical Center staff to maintain licensure/certification requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain records/reports required for accrediting agencies and healthcare regulatory standards; recommend timely record management changes as needed.
  • Participate in developing simulation education for Nursing and other departments.
  • Support General Orientation, Nursing Orientation, and Code Ready programs under the direction of the Director.
  • Develop tailored programs for Medical Center departments (e.g., BLS, ACLS, EKG Basics, PALS, Aegis, TNCC) using current standards of care and evidence-based practices.
  • Coordinate and implement instructor updates, renewals, and develop new instructors for each program.
  • Support e-learning education through Education Council collaboration.
  • Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate requested/required professional development programs.
  • Compile and submit QA reports to the Director of Education Services in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program of paramedic training.
  • Current certification as an EMT-Paramedic from the State of Ohio; National Registry preferred.
  • ACLS, PALS, and BLS Instructor Status through American Heart Association or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Additional instructor statuses highly encouraged.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.
