Paramedic

Responsibilities

• Assess, stabilize, and provide emergency/urgent care for patients with acute illnesses or injuries.
• Bridge the gap between home and hospital by performing advanced life support, administering medications, managing airways, and ensuring safe patient transport or transition to the next level of care.
• Document all actions meticulously and maintain equipment.
• Start IV’s.
• Maintain IV’s.
• Monitor patients.
• Administer medication for various reactions as needed.
• Enact code policy as needed.
• Patient lifting as needed.
• Administer Flu vaccinations.
• Answer telephone as needed.
• Call in advance of scheduled exams to verify appointments as needed.
• Dispense and or explain preps for different exams as needed.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• BLS is required (Basic Life Support Certification).
• Florida Paramedic and ACLS certifications is required.
• Ability to relate to the public in a professional and courteous manner, understanding the objectives of the organization, regardless of racial, ethnic, religion, sexual orientation, gender, mental/physical health, age, economic status, etc.
• Responds to emergency situations in a calm and appropriate fashion.

• Additional medical related knowledge preferred.

• Ability to interact effectively with doctors, staff, patients, vendors, peers, and management.

Benefits

Pay

$26-$32 per hour.
