Responsibilities
- Assess, stabilize, and provide emergency/urgent care for patients with acute illnesses or injuries.
- Bridge the gap between home and hospital by performing advanced life support, administering medications, managing airways, and ensuring safe patient transport or transition to the next level of care.
- Document all actions meticulously and maintain equipment.
- Start IV’s.
- Maintain IV’s.
- Monitor patients.
- Administer medication for various reactions as needed.
- Enact code policy as needed.
- Patient lifting as needed.
- Administer Flu vaccinations.
- Answer telephone as needed.
- Call in advance of scheduled exams to verify appointments as needed.
- Dispense and or explain preps for different exams as needed.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- BLS is required (Basic Life Support Certification).
- Florida Paramedic and ACLS certifications is required.
- Ability to relate to the public in a professional and courteous manner, understanding the objectives of the organization, regardless of racial, ethnic, religion, sexual orientation, gender, mental/physical health, age, economic status, etc.
- Responds to emergency situations in a calm and appropriate fashion.

Skills
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Additional medical related knowledge preferred.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to interact effectively with doctors, staff, patients, vendors, peers, and management.
