Reports to: Director of Emergency. Non-exempt position.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree preferred; graduate of a paramedic program in discipline
- Current state licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-P)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) certification within 6 months of hire
- Handle with Care training within 30 days of orientation and annually thereafter

Responsibilities
- Respond to calls for emergency medical services and provide patient care as directed or determined necessary
- Under the supervision of a physician or nurse, assist with performing patient assessments and treatments
- Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection
- Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition
- Document patient care given
- Maintain equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting
- Maintain examination areas
- Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration
