Description
Lancaster County EMS is now recruiting new staff to expand its services. The organization is implementing a new part-time and full-time salary increase effective July 1, 2025, and adding an additional 24-hour transport unit. They are seeking dedicated high-level staff who want to provide top-quality pre-hospital health care and work in a supportive family environment.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited Paramedic program
- South Carolina/National Registry Paramedic
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – or equivalent
- Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
- Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) – preferred
- NIMS 100, 200, 700, & 800
- EVOC/CEVOH
- HAZMAT Awareness
- Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities & Scope of Work
Works as a team to operate a single ambulance and provide Basic and Advanced Life Support services. Responds, treats, and transports patients according to organizational policy, industry standards, and the provider's scope of practice. Delivers compassionate care with clinical excellence and customer service. Completes patient care reports by the end of the shift. Ensures daily unit check sheets and equipment are on board and in working order. Performs end-of-month check-off sheets. Cleans stations and units according to policy.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and lift using safe techniques
- Sit, stand, walk, etc. for long periods of time within 24-hour shift
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures and environmental conditions
- Ability to successfully mitigate stressful situations with co-workers, other healthcare providers, patients, and the public
