Paralegal (Part-Time Contractor)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and self-directed Contractor Paralegal to serve as the operational backbone of our legal function. Working directly with our General Counsel (GC), you will play a pivotal role in streamlining contract workflows, managing compliance, and optimizing legal intake. This is a 2-month, part-time contract ideal for an experienced paralegal seeking high autonomy, direct visibility to executive leadership, and flexible working hours.
Location: Remote (Eastern Time Zone Only)
Job Type: Part-Time (15-20 hours/week), 2-Month Contract
Hourly Rate: $45-$55/hr
Target Start Date: ASAP
Responsibilities
- Contract Management & Redlining: Independently redline and manage routine NDAs, vendor agreements, and Statement of Work (SOW) documents using company templates and playbooks. Maintain a strict response time goal (average contract turnaround of 2 business days or less).
- Intake & System Audit: Stand up and manage a centralized legal request intake process to track, categorize, and assign incoming business requests. Build and maintain an accurate NDA tracker, auditing our contract management system to ensure zero stale records.
- Compliance & Corporate Governance: Own the compliance calendar end-to-end—ensuring 100% on-time execution for filings, license renewals, and policy reviews.
- Process Improvement & Handoff: Identify and implement at least one process improvement (template, checklist, or tracker) to optimize repeatable tasks. Ensure all trackers and logs are left in a pristine, fully documented state for a seamless handoff at the end of the engagement.
Key Performance Outcomes & Milestones
- Week 1–2: Onboard on templates/playbooks, build and populate the NDA tracker, set up the legal intake log, and begin independently redlining routine agreements.
- Month 1: Take full ownership of the compliance calendar with zero missed deadlines. Maintain a 24-hour log rate for incoming requests and standard 2-day turnaround on routine contracts.
- Month 2: Complete process improvement deliverables and transition all trackers/documentation into a clean state for seamless GC handoff.
