Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case preparation and legal proceedings.
- Prepare and draft various legal documents such as affidavits, legal correspondences, and other formal documents.
- Manage and organize case files, ensuring all important case documents, evidence, and information are accurately filed and easily accessible.
- Provide litigation support, including assisting with trial preparation, arranging exhibits, and liaising with clients and witnesses.
- Conduct document reviews, scrutinizing them for relevancy and privilege information, and creating reports to assist attorneys.
- Provide general legal assistance, such as coordinating law office activities, maintaining law libraries, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
- Collaborate with attorneys to manage their caseload effectively, and ensure all deadlines are met.
- Attend court proceedings and meetings, taking notes and reporting back to attorneys as necessary.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in law, paralegal studies, or a related field is required. A paralegal certification is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a paralegal or in a similar role within the legal industry.
- Proven experience in legal research, legal documentation, case management, litigation support, document review, and legal assistance.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide solutions to complex legal issues.
- Proficiency in using legal software and technology for case management, document review, and legal research.
