Paraeducator-Independence Facilitator - 7 hrs/day (Village)

Position Summary

Provides individual behavior intervention and medical support to students in a classroom settings, assists individuals or small groups of students to enhance learning. Assists teachers with instruction and classroom management that occurs in special education and general education classrooms, lunchroom and play field environs.

Responsibilities

• Supports students with individual behavior intervention
• Assists in enhancing learning through small group instruction
• Aids in classroom management in special and general education settings
• Assists teachers with instructional needs in various environments

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
• Completion of at least 48 college credit units may substitute for the competency assessment
• Valid driver's license (may be required)
• Compliance with District skill/competency requirements

• Experience in classroom settings, including special and general education

Pay

$21.24 - $28.08 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on relevant experience.
