Paraeducator-Independence Facilitator - 7 hrs/day (Strauch)

Position Summary

Provides individual behavior intervention and medical support to students in a classroom setting, assists individuals or small groups of students to enhance learning, and assists teachers with instruction and classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Supports students in individual behavior intervention and medical needs
• Aids in enhancing learning through small group and individual instruction
• Assists teachers in classroom management in special education and general education settings, including lunchroom and play field environments

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
• Completion of at least 48 college credit units may substitute for the competency assessment
• Valid driver's license (may be required)
• Compliance with District skill/competency requirements

Qualifications

• Knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
• Ability to provide individual behavior intervention and medical support
• Experience working with students in various educational settings

Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to manage classroom environments
• Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies
• Basic first aid and CPR certification

Pay

$21.24 - $28.08 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on relevant experience.
