Position Summary
Provides individual behavior intervention and medical support to students in a classroom setting, assists individuals or small groups of students to enhance learning, and assists teachers with instruction and classroom management.
Responsibilities
- Supports students in individual behavior intervention and medical needs
- Aids in enhancing learning through small group and individual instruction
- Assists teachers in classroom management in special education and general education settings, including lunchroom and play field environments
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
- Completion of at least 48 college credit units may substitute for the competency assessment
- Valid driver's license (may be required)
- Compliance with District skill/competency requirements
Qualifications
- Knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
- Ability to provide individual behavior intervention and medical support
- Experience working with students in various educational settings
Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage classroom environments
- Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies
- Basic first aid and CPR certification
