Paraeducator-Independence Facilitator - 7 hrs/day (Orchard)

About the role

Provides individual behavior intervention and medical support to students in classroom settings, assists in enhancing learning through small group and individual instruction, and supports teachers in classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Supports students with behavior intervention plans
• Assists in enhancing learning through reading, writing, and mathematics instruction
• Assists teachers with classroom management in special education and general education classrooms, lunchroom, and play fields

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
• Completion of at least 48 college credit units may substitute for the competency assessment

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license (if required)
• Compliance with District skill/competency requirements
• Valid First Aid/CPR card (if required)

Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of special education and general education teaching methods

Pay

$21.24 - $28.08 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on relevant experience.
