Painter - Oasis at Death Valley

Join our Engineering & Maintenance team at the Oasis at Death Valley, situated in a lush, spring-fed desert oasis surrounded by Death Valley National Park. The Oasis operates the historic AAA Four Diamond Inn and Ranch, restaurants, gift shops, and the world's lowest elevation golf course. Both hotels are open year-round and feature swimming pools fed by naturally warm local springs.

About the role

Prepares and paints all surfaces, assuring quality and durability.

Position Type: Full-time, year-round. Start dates as soon as possible on the next available check-in date (approximately three weeks).

Responsibilities

• Perform all assignments requested assuring safety, quality, timeliness, and cost effectiveness
• Protects all surfaces during preparation and painting, avoiding damage or additional works resulting from overspray, spills, drips, etc.
• Applies latex, oil base, solvent base, mastic, and epoxy coatings, ensuring highest quality and maximum durability
• Uses and maintains all paint equipment
• Tapes, textures, patches, and repairs drywall
• Applies acoustic ceiling applications
• Mixes and blends paint
• Operates sandblasting equipment
• Work hours, shifts, overtime, and on-call shifts, or other work as deemed necessary and/or assigned by Director of Engineering
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months experience preferred
• Working knowledge of safe operation and proper maintenance of hand and power tools
• Must have a valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
• Ability to climb and work from a ladder up to 40 feet from ground level
• Ability to enter and work in crawl spaces and attics
• Must be able to withstand working in extreme temperatures
