About the role

Starting pay: $26.46 + $2.00 shift differential = $28.46

Responsibilities

  • Operates and adjusts manual and automatic powder coat equipment to meet company paint and quality specifications.
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs equipment/systems following specific codes, manuals, diagrams, and blueprints using hand tools, power tools, and electrical/electronic test equipment (e.g., amp meter).
  • Replaces faulty components such as relays, switches, motors, and sensing devices using hand tools; diagnoses, repairs, and replaces as needed.
  • Develops a preventive maintenance service log and schedule for powder coat equipment and maintains the equipment accordingly.
  • Adjusts thermostat to maintain specified temperature in wash tanks.
  • Inspects painted units for runs, sags, and unpainted areas.
  • Cleans paint from ceiling, walls of booth, conveyor hooks, grid, disks, cones, spray heads, and hoses.
  • Performs visual checks of quality of parts being hung.
  • Operates forklift and performs daily checks as required by OSHA regulations.
  • Loads and moves materials to work area.
  • Maintains proper chemical balance in tanks and checks titration as required; documents results for EPA log.
  • Maintains individual PPE and completes necessary paperwork.
  • Inventories paint and chemicals on a monthly basis.
  • Develops racks for maximum benefit.
  • Performs periodic maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment and performs other housekeeping duties as required.
  • Continually strives to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Schedule

3rd Shift: Sunday – Friday, 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
