Paint Line Operator - 1st Shift

About the role

As a Paint Line Operator, you will receive, store, and distribute materials and products within the plant floor to support the flow of material to and from the paint line. You will load and unload materials from the paint line conveyor system.

Responsibilities

• Observe and follow all safety rules
• Work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends, as scheduled
• Convey materials using carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts (if licensed) from the paint area to designated areas
• Manually load and unload materials from the paint line conveyor system, never lifting more than 50 pounds without a team lift or the use of lifting devices
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code after the painting process
• Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers
• Visually inspect finished painted materials to support quality
• Work as a team to coordinate loading and unloading materials
• Safely operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, or other moving equipment
• Train in the various paint line stations to progress into the next role
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required; mechanical work experience is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to be trained to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, motorized pallet jacks, or manual pallet jacks
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers

Pay

Starting rate of $21.25 with opportunities for advancement in level and pay.

Schedule

1st shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday) with some mandatory overtime.
