Paint Line Operator - 1st Shift

Responsibilities

• Observe and follow all safety rules.
• Work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends, as scheduled.
• Convey materials using carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts (if licensed) from the paint area to designated areas.
• Manually load and unload materials from the paint line conveyor system, never lifting more than 50 pounds without a team lift or the use of lifting devices.
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code after the painting process.
• Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
• Visually inspect finished painted materials to support quality.
• Work as a team to coordinate loading and unloading materials.
• Safely operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, or other moving equipment.
• Train in the various paint line stations to progress into the next role.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required; mechanical work experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to be trained to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, motorized pallet jacks, or manual pallet jacks.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.

Pay

$21.25 as the starting rate with opportunities for advancement in level and pay.

Schedule

1st shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday) with some mandatory overtime.
