Duties and Responsibilities

  • Exemplify Amcor Behaviors and Values.
  • Work professionally with other associates.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Inspect product for quality and set aside substandard items.
  • Work closely with Leads and report quality issues or reject conditions promptly.
  • Notify Team Leader of safety, machinery, raw material, quality, preventive maintenance, emergency maintenance, packaging, or documentation concerns.
  • Document production and downtime information accurately.
  • Assemble product by installing gaskets in lids and handles in containers.
  • Flame containers and lids as required.
  • Stack and pack product according to customer and order instructions.
  • Prepare proper product identification and/or packaging labels.
  • Aid in material handling and other tasks as needed.
  • Utilize downtime to clean up oil, sweep, mop, make boxes, or other tasks assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned.

Educational, Skill, & Physical Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in fast-paced production environments is highly preferred.
  • Regularly required to stand for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Good hand-eye coordination is required.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Frequent exposure to production floor; required use of PPE including bump cap, safety eyewear or prescription safety eyewear, safety shoes, hair/beard nets, hearing protection, and disposable mask.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, and reach to perform necessary job functions.
  • Must be able to keep up with fast-paced production cycles.
  • Agility and consistent attention to detail are required.
  • Able to identify alpha/numeric product codes.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime is required.
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Good communication skills—verbal and written—are essential.
  • Ability to work well independently or in a team environment.
  • Display ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
