Packer/Handler

About the role

The packer/handler position plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of Amcor's packaging products. This role involves maintaining a clean and organized work area, inspecting products for quality, and assisting with various tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Inspect products to ensure quality and set aside those below standards.
• Work closely with leads and alert supervisors of quality issues or reject conditions.
• Watch molds for irregularities or sticking and respond promptly to quality issues.
• Complete assembly of products by installing gaskets in lids and handles in containers.
• Stack and pack products according to customer and order instructions.
• Prepare proper product identification and/or packaging labels.
• Absorb downtime to clean up, sweep, mop, or perform other assigned tasks.
• Accurately complete required paperwork.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Able to keep up with fast-paced production cycles.
• Agility and consistent attention to detail.
• Able to tolerate constant repetition.
• Some workstations may require sitting or standing for long periods.
• Able to frequently lift, bend, and reach.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
• Able to identify alpha/numeric product codes.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Qualifications
