Responsibilities
- Participate in the general good housekeeping and sanitation of the area.
- Sort, count, and pack frozen egg products according to customer specifications while keeping pace with machinery and the conveyor system.
- Conduct quality checks on the product and packaging using a computerized system.
- Fold and inspect the required products.
- Read scales and check case weights according to customer specifications.
- Lift and carry up to 30 lbs. safely.
- Work in teams ensuring that the conveyor system does not back up and become jammed with product.
- Determine if product meets proper specifications or not and take corrective action as needed.
- Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.
- Inspect products to verify proper size, shape, and color.
- May sort out any product damages that occurred during the freezing process or otherwise not conforming to company and customer set standards.
- Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
- Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
- Adhere to Quality work practices, follow all GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.
- Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words in English and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in oral form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.
