Responsibilities

  • Participate in the general good housekeeping and sanitation of the area
  • Sort, count, and pack frozen egg products according to customer specifications while keeping pace with machinery and the conveyor system
  • Conduct quality checks on the product and packaging using a computerized system
  • Fold and inspect the required products
  • Read scales and check case weights according to customer specifications
  • Lift and carry up to 30 lbs. safely
  • Work in teams ensuring that the conveyor system does not back up and become jammed with product
  • Determine if product meets proper specifications or not and take corrective action as needed
  • Absorb to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained
  • Inspect products to verify proper size, shape, and color
  • May sort out any product damages that occurred during the freezing process or otherwise not conforming to company and customer set standards
  • Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety
  • Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks
  • Adhere to Quality work practices, follow all GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained
  • Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words in English and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations
