Responsibilities
- Participate in the general good housekeeping and sanitation of the area
- Sort, count, and pack frozen egg products according to customer specifications while keeping pace with machinery and the conveyor system
- Conduct quality checks on the product and packaging using a computerized system
- Fold and inspect the required products
- Read scales and check case weights according to customer specifications
- Lift and carry up to 30 lbs. safely
- Work in teams ensuring that the conveyor system does not back up and become jammed with product
- Determine if product meets proper specifications or not and take corrective action as needed
- Absorb to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained
- Inspect products to verify proper size, shape, and color
- May sort out any product damages that occurred during the freezing process or otherwise not conforming to company and customer set standards
- Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety
- Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks
- Adhere to Quality work practices, follow all GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained
- Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words in English and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form
- Ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations
