Responsibilities

The Packer position is responsible for packing finished high-quality frozen egg products in cases according to customer specifications. Customers and the public benefit from safe, high-quality products due to the work performed in this role.

  • Participate in general housekeeping and sanitation of the area.
  • Sort, count, and pack frozen egg products according to customer specifications while keeping pace with machinery and the conveyor system.
  • Conduct quality checks on the product and packaging using a computerized system.
  • Fold and inspect required products.
  • Read scales and check case weights according to customer specifications.
  • Lift and carry up to 30 lbs. safely.
  • Work in teams to ensure the conveyor system does not back up or become jammed with product.
  • Rotate to different positions during the shift.
  • Determine if product meets proper specifications and take corrective action as needed.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, and maintain sanitary conditions to ensure product quality.
  • Inspect products to verify proper size, shape, and color; sort out any product damages that occurred during freezing or otherwise not conforming to standards.
  • Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
  • Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words in English and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to perform operations using units of American weight measurement.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in oral form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.

Schedule

7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Overtime and weekends as needed.
