Package Machine Operator

Responsibilities

• Read and understand daily production schedules and material requirements.
• Transport needed packaging materials to the production area.
• Set-up and operation of packaging equipment with correct materials and products based on order specifications.
• Meet daily production requirements.
• Perform periodic quality control checks to ensure the product is packaged according to customer requirements (including checking end and back seals and date codes).
• When changing product varieties, follow pre-set guidelines and change out filtering screens based on product variety/size.
• Set, adjust, and periodically check the product flow through a foreign materials machine.
• Check the magnet for any foreign materials and document and report as required.
• Accurately complete and maintain required documentation on product, materials/supplies, output, and machine downtime.
• Troubleshoot minor packaging problems and make appropriate adjustments to equipment.
• Communicate with management and maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
• Comply with company safety policies and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Packaging Supervisor or Lead.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic computer skills, including touch screens
• Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Ability to perform basic math skills
• Effectively communicate questions, problems, and reports to co-workers, supervisory, and management personnel

Pay

$17.00 - $19.50 / hour
