Machine Operator

Responsibilities
- Work within Essity safety standards with an emphasis on keeping coworkers and yourself safe by following all safety rules and guidelines.
- Understand and communicate all hazards and safety issues to appropriate personnel; properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ensure the assigned machine is kept running and producing quality products.
- Recognize defects and quality issues; secure the required quality level of final products by regularly checking and making necessary adjustments.
- Lead changeovers and other technical activities as needed.
- Order, prepare, and install raw materials on the machine according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain communication flow with previous and next shifts regarding machine performance.
- Maintain optimal housekeeping in the assigned work area during shift transitions.
- Complete all required documentation and data files for tracking purposes.
- Utilize the Levels Program to increase technical skills and knowledge as part of job progression.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must pass a background check and drug test.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, alternating between day and night shifts at 2-week intervals (mandatory).
- Frequent walking or standing; occasional bending or kneeling; lifting up to 50 lbs.; pushing/pulling.
- Ability to safely move materials using equipment such as forklifts, cranes, or hoists.
- Familiarity with hand tools and ability to read a tape measure down to the sixteenth of an inch.
- Basic computer skills.
- High degree of attention to detail; ability to work in a fast-paced, high-quality manufacturing environment.
- Readiness to work in a challenging environment, including exposure to temperature swings (manufacturing areas are not air-conditioned).

Schedule
12-hour rotating shift schedule, alternating between day and night shifts at 2-week intervals.
