About the Role
Operates computer numerical control (CNC) mill machining centers to perform machine functions such as boring, facing, and threading parts of metallic workpieces including castings, forgings, and bar stock.
Responsibilities
- Operate complex machinery and utilize various types of manuals and CNC shop equipment to perform machining operations on materials including steel and aluminum.
- Calibrate machine prior to production and ensure machines are regularly checked and cleaned.
- Work from and in accordance with specifications and design criteria including verbal instructions, drawings, and blueprints; perform standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work and tooling.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Follow all preventative maintenance and safety guidelines.
- Work to meet production goals.
- Rework and calibrate production parts and machine tooling as required; check each component for accuracy.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of industry, machinery, and technique.
- Provide all required reports and/or correspondence including production and quality logs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- One to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with machines or a manufacturing environment.
- Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to use an overhead crane and forklift.
