P&R Setup and Operate (Group Leader) - 1st shift

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is seeking a P&R Setup and Operate (Group Leader) for 1st shift.

Pay

$26.47 per hour. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Responsibilities

• Assist and instruct operators and setup personnel in troubleshooting, machining, or setup issues on all CNC and conventional machines.
• Set up and operate equipment as needed.
• Operate forklift to facilitate work or move material within the department.
• Plan and arrange work for P&R machining and P&R bar cell operators (LG5) and setup employees (LG3).
• Work from charts, manuals, and drawings to determine proper parts necessary to meet production orders.
• Sort and accumulate orders, including pre-kitting setups as needed.
• Oversee all P&R personnel, ensuring necessary materials, stock, fixturing, and documents are available.
• Refer questionable cases to proper supervision.
• Perform all duties of the group as required.
• Refer unusual conditions to supervisor.
• Assist in maintaining daily visual boards to ensure accuracy.
• Help maintain machines and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Administer training on 5S’s and total productive maintenance (TPM), including minor maintenance such as cleaning, inspection, and lubrication.
• Instruct employees on safety protocols for machining.
• Apply specialized knowledge and experience to plan manufacturing operations within standard methods.
• Adapt procedures to meet new conditions.
• Take direction from supervisor and assign personnel as needed to complete jobs.

Requirements

• 1 year of previous experience working with CNC machines and familiarity with their operation.
• Ability to read blueprints and use calipers.
• Experience working with bar machines.
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
• No relocation benefit is offered; only candidates residing within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY will be considered.
