Job Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, preparing, injecting peeling casing, weights, and moving unfinished and finished raw/cooked materials.
- Watch for equipment malfunctions or product defects, load raw materials into equipment, unload work in progress, or finished product, and move materials to and from the equipment.
- Identify reject products, rips, or blowouts. Dip product into sanitizing bath.
- Notify lead or supervisory staff if unusual operations are identified.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in production area; maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with existing policy.
- Comply with organizational policies including, but not limited to, safety, good manufacturing practices, food safety, and employment and work rules.
- Learn and understand appropriate safety procedures through education, training, use of protective equipment, and following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
- Perform pre-operation tasks which can include machine set up and tear down.
- Perform the function to scrap inedible products.
- Inspect product to customer specifications.
- Understand and place in practice appropriate safety procedures.
Experience & Skills
- 0-1 years of experience in related field is preferred.
- Able to read a scale and document weights accurately on documentation and input into ERP system.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people, and conveyors.
- Work conditions are typical of a food manufacturing facility.
- This role does not require any domestic travel.
- Frequent physical agility required, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, using hands or fingers, talking, hearing, feeling objects, tools, controls, standing/walking on concrete flooring, frequent hand manipulation of a repetitive nature, and standing/walking for greater than 4 hours.
- Frequent lifting above shoulder height required.
Pay & Benefits
- The hourly pay range for this position is $22 to $27 per hour.
- The final hourly rate offered will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, and market considerations.
