Team Leader - First Shift

About the Role

The Team Lead will manage team members and provide effective guidance. Team Leads are responsible for supervising, managing, and motivating team members daily and act as the primary contact point for all team members. Effective communication is key to this role, along with the ability to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and collaboration. This role has no authority for staff actions and reports to the shift supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily activities of a production team in an assigned department area to ensure volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved.
• Validate or coordinate the work of others.
• Fill in for absences or when lines are down.
• Ensure processes are being followed.
• Perform quality checks and ensure quality of responsible areas.
• Gather and input data, equipment recovery, and repair.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors.
• Train team members, delegate tasks, and set deadlines.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, monitor team performance, and report on KPIs.
• Motivate team members and identify training needs.
• Provide coaching, resolve conflicts, and recognize high performance.
• Maintain department safety and understand line or departmental schedules.
• Ensure excellent attendance and keep equipment operational.
• Maintain knowledge of all processes, procedures, and equipment.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in a production facility.
• Minimum two years of Team Lead experience, leading teams, or groups of people.
• Minimum 2 years of production experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to suggest improvements to processes and act as a knowledge resource for team members.
• Excellent verbal communication skills with a strong aptitude for operating machinery.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with full use of motor skills.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to work for long periods while standing, sitting, or walking.
• Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information.

Multilingual abilities are a plus.

Schedule

First Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday
