About the role

Responsibilities
- Communicate clearly and effectively with customers and kitchen staff, ensuring accurate order taking and service
- Take customer orders, serve food, prep food, and prepare coffee or tea, following food safety and quality guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the bistro or catering area, including tables, utensils, glassware, condiments, and dining surfaces
- Buss and clean tables after each guest use, ensuring a tidy and welcoming environment
- Absorb and prepare for event setup, service, and teardown for catering functions and banquet events as needed
- Wash dishes in the absence of a dishwasher, ensuring proper sanitation and cleanliness
- Receive and store food and supply orders properly, following storage and inventory guidelines
- Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures
- Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations
- Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager
- Interact, acknowledge and greet guests as they enter the restaurant or bistro area
- Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with both internal and external guests
- Complete a daily activity log with pertinent shift information for co-workers and leadership team
- Communicate effectively with all hotel staff to ensure smooth delivery of services
- Coordinate with front desk, maintenance staff, Food and Beverage Manager and General Manager on things requiring attention
- Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Hospitality / hotel work experience preferred
- Food handler’s license and liquor server permits as required by state law (or ability to obtain)
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays
