About the role

Responsibilities

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with customers and kitchen staff, ensuring accurate order taking and service
  • Take customer orders, serve food, prep food, and prepare coffee or tea, following food safety and quality guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the bistro or catering area, including tables, utensils, glassware, condiments, and dining surfaces
  • Buss and clean tables after each guest use, ensuring a tidy and welcoming environment
  • Absorb and prepare for event setup, service, and teardown for catering functions and banquet events as needed
  • Wash dishes in the absence of a dishwasher, ensuring proper sanitation and cleanliness
  • Receive and store food and supply orders properly, following storage and inventory guidelines
  • Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures
  • Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations
  • Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager
  • Interact, acknowledge and greet guests as they enter the restaurant or bistro area
  • Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with both internal and external guests
  • Complete a daily activity log with pertinent shift information for co-workers and leadership team
  • Communicate effectively with all hotel staff to ensure smooth delivery of services
  • Coordinate with front desk, maintenance staff, Food and Beverage Manager and General Manager on things requiring attention
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Hospitality / hotel work experience preferred
  • Food handler’s license and liquor server permits as required by state law (or ability to obtain)
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays

Pay

$17.13 per hour

Schedule

25-35 hours per week, must be available to work weekends
