About the role
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining clean and attractive rooms for guests at The Oxford Collection of hotels. This position ensures the timely and proper cleaning and sanitizing of guestrooms on a daily basis while upholding the company’s standards and culture.
Responsibilities
- Guestroom Cleaning and Sanitizing (80%):
- Thoroughly clean and restock assigned guestrooms, including completing all pre-clean duties (e.g., preparing housekeeping carts with guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and linens)
- Perform cleaning duties such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping, changing linens, removing trash, and handling dirty linens
- Change and replenish bed linens, towels, and guest amenities as needed
- Perform deep cleaning tasks as required
- Stock, maintain, and transport housekeeping supply carts daily
- Dispose of trash and recyclables appropriately
- Keep hallways, public areas, and closets neat and clean
- Prepare the housekeeping cleaning cart for the next day’s use and report any guest-borrowed items to the supervisor
- Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, and local food safety, sanitation, and safety standards, as well as Oxford Collection’s security procedures
- Respond to emergency situations and report maintenance repairs immediately to a supervisor or General Manager
- Guest Relations (10%):
- Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring every aspect of a guest’s stay meets expectations
- Interact with and acknowledge guests
- Identify and resolve guest issues
- Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with guests and staff
- Respond to special guest requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
- Report lost and found items and follow lost and found procedures
- Report maintenance issues promptly
- Other (10%):
- Communicate effectively with hotel staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Complete a daily activity log with pertinent shift information for co-workers and leadership
- Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Reliable and consistent attendance
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Hospitality/hotel work experience preferred
- Housekeeping experience preferred

Physical Requirements
- Frequently perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements
- Occasionally lift 50 pounds and frequently exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift, or otherwise move objects
- Occasionally bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces
- Walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)
- Climb stairs both inside and outside, frequently lifting 20 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
