The Team: S&P’s Network and Regulatory Compliance group offers best-in-class technology and incorporates industry best practices to manage risk, comply with regulations, and provide assistance to the financial services industry with meeting their compliance obligations. Our risk and regulatory compliance management solutions create a single source of truth for clients, with information about customers and vendors that is accurate and up-to-date. We provide extensive risk and compliance management coverage, allowing firms to reduce costs, reuse information, and streamline processes with improved technology.

The Outsourcing Delivery team within Tax Solutions provides support to major financial institutions and multi-national corporations around the world as those services relate to the review and validation of international tax documentation (e.g., Forms W-8, W-9, 1099, 1042-S, etc.). Drawing on extensive operational and tax technical expertise, Tax Solutions outsourcing offerings cover end-to-end services meeting domestic, non-resident, FATCA tax withholding and information return reporting needs, as well as the Common Reporting Standard due diligence and reporting requirements.

The Outsourcing Delivery team is seeking a high-energy, detail-driven, and personable Tax Reporting Analyst to lead our clients to the finish line.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and conduct tax document return and transmittal examination (IRS Forms 1099, 1042, 8966 as well as CRS jurisdictional XMLs), checking for completeness and accuracy based on operational standards and regulatory/jurisdictional requirements.
  • Act as client relationship lead for tax reporting processes as they relate to data collection, return generation, client review, and timely preparation/submission of applicable returns.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients and handle both day-to-day account review processes and urgent escalations in a professional and timely manner.
  • Provide subject matter expertise where required on client and team inquiries regarding applicable statutes, tax authority guidance, and general industry approaches and best practices.
  • Address tax compliance and remediation requests with clients and/or their account holders in accordance with IRS regulations and Outsourcing protocol as part of audit exposure elimination efforts.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting withholding and reporting requirements.
  • Address client queries on S&P developed software and tax return validation logic.
  • Participate in client status conferences to discuss generation progress and process questions.
  • Understand and exhibit a strong emphasis on the ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Conform to all company policies, including data protection and confidentiality requirements.
  • Successfully pass any required drug testing and background checks as required by company policy or client requirement.

Qualifications

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years experience in a front-facing client service role with excellent client service ethos and communication skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (formulas/v-lookups, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and good multitasking skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in a front-facing financial data operations client service role.

Pay

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $45,000 to $58,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

This role is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States.
