Outreach Coordinator

Bienvivir All-Inclusive Senior Health (“Bienvivir”) is a community-based, patient-centered, comprehensive health care delivery system that advocates and promotes quality of life, optimum independence, dignity, and choices in a nurturing environment for frail seniors. Since 1987, Bienvivir has served the frail seniors of El Paso, Texas through the provision of the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (“PACE”). PACE is a unique managed care benefit for frail seniors (referred to as participants) age 55 and older who are certified by the state as needing nursing home level care and who reside in a PACE service area. PACE programs coordinate and provide comprehensive medical and support services so that participants can remain independent and stay in their homes for as long as safely possible.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and maintains effective relationships with community organizations, agencies, hospitals, government agencies, churches, schools, etc. as part of Bienvivir awareness activities
• Implements elements of the Marketing Plan that delineate outreach activities (formal and informal, internal and external) in support of the Organization’s Strategic Plan
• Develops and maintains active referral sources with the Marketing Manager
• Coordinates, manages logistics, and participates in all health fairs, community outreach activities, and promotional campaigns
• Appropriately screens inquiries to ensure referrals meet minimum PACE/Bienvivir qualification criteria
• Distributes all marketing and promotional materials and communicates supply needs to the Marketing Manager
• Manages referrals and referral contacts, ensuring inquiries are promptly responded to with optimal customer service and professionalism
• Operates company vehicles safely when assigned, maintains vehicle logs, and reports maintenance issues
• Contributes material, as approved by the Marketing Manager, for possible inclusion in the Organization’s website and/or newsletter
• Conducts tours of Bienvivir facilities as requested and per tour schedule
• Carries out other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

Requirements

• High School Diploma; prefer two (2) years of college level work in journalism, public relations, marketing/advertising
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in community public relations
• Valid Texas Driver’s License; Motor Vehicle Driving record check will be conducted

Skills

• Knowledge of marketing/outreach principles with ability to implement strategies that promote Bienvivir
• Strong understanding and appreciation of the elderly, the PACE program, and Bienvivir
• Strong interpersonal, communication, written, and organizational skills
• Public speaking skills and experience
• Ability to clearly present the philosophy and basic structure of the PACE model, and the Vision and Mission of Bienvivir
• Ability to work collectively and communicate effectively with staff, community contacts, participants, and family members
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, desktop publishing, and spreadsheet software
• Ability to effectively prepare and present information to various groups
• Ability to work independently or with others to manage multiple tasks with minimum supervision
