About the role

We are looking for a Manager of Outpatient Therapy Services to join our team and care for our diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will have prior inpatient hospital experience or a desire and commitment to learn. At PAM Health, we care for chronically and critically ill patients who require extended hospital care. The Manager of Outpatient Therapy Services is responsible for therapy department management, delivery, and coordination of services provided in an age-appropriate manner, consistent with the principles and practices of applicable therapy practice acts of the state where the hospital resides, the professional code of ethics, and the policies, procedures and guidelines of PAM Health. This role includes department/administrative responsibilities, direct patient care for the population served in the inpatient outpatient therapy setting(s), and other related duties as assigned or requested.

Responsibilities

• Manage therapy department operations, delivery, and coordination of services.
• Provide direct patient care in inpatient and outpatient therapy settings.
• Supervise personnel and establish an environment that optimizes performance.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with peers, supervisory management, and staff.
• Communicate effectively with patients and family members to establish a favorable attitude and motivate cooperation.
• Analyze and solve client rehabilitation needs using evidence-based practice.
• Develop and execute programs for maximal results.
• Create activities and control the environment to stimulate clients' desirable emotions.
• Provide leadership and direction for optimal team functioning.
• Accept and utilize advice and constructive criticism.
• Modify work style to meet patient and hospital or clinic needs.

Requirements

• Current license as PT, OTR, SLP, PTA, or OTA in the state where the hospital resides.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical/patient care experience.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Numerical ability to understand and use statistical and clerical data.
• Ability to foresee future problems or outcomes and develop programs for maximal results.
• Understanding of the scientific basis of techniques and utilization of current research to support evidence-based practice.
• Strong sense of professional and ethical values.
• Patience for client contact and ability to stimulate clients' desirable emotions.
• Able to function in repetitive and/or changing tasks with ease.
• Able to work and reason independently, logically, impartially, and accurately.
• Openness and willingness to modify work style to meet patient and hospital or clinic needs.
• Willingness to assume more responsibility.
