Outpatient Dialysis Nurse - RN

About the Role

An entry-level Outpatient RN responsible for providing competent hemodialysis care, including assessment, treatment, and patient education. Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe delivery of therapy.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes patient data pre- and post-hemodialysis, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
• Provides patient and family education on treatment options and care.
• Ensures safe delivery of hemodialysis, assists with emergency responses, and maintains documentation accuracy.
• Collaborates with team members, participates in staff training, and supports quality initiatives.
• Performs laboratory procedures and ensures compliance with policies and regulations.
• Supervises and guides other care staff after meeting experience and training requirements.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program with current licensure.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience, with preferred hemodialysis background.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting, standing, and assisting with patients and equipment.

Work Environment

Healthcare setting involving direct patient care, potential exposure to infectious materials, and physical demands like lifting and prolonged standing. May include travel to training or other facilities.
