About the Role
This is an entry-level Registered Nurse position focused on outpatient hemodialysis care. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient treatment in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient data collection before, during, and after dialysis.
- Adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Provide patient education and administer medications.
- Respond to emergencies and ensure proper lab procedures.
- Supervise and train Patient Care Technicians and LPNs/LVNs as needed.
- Support quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Current state RN licensure and CPR/BLS certification.
- Entry-level RN with less than 2 years of nephrology experience (hemodialysis background preferred).
- Must meet state practice requirements.
Physical & Work Environment
- Involves heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
- Potential exposure to infectious materials in a healthcare setting.
- May require travel and flexibility to work in various locations.
Supervision & Advancement
May oversee Patient Care Technicians and LPNs/LVNs after completing training and gaining experience in nephrology nursing.
Pay
Hourly pay ranges from $29.00 to $50.00.
